Gentleman’s Cooperative

My name is Mike Berntsen and I’m the CEO of Gentleman’s Cooperative, a custom men’s clothier. At the time we met Bill Himmelstein, we were already finished with the process of negotiating our lease with our current landlord ourselves, but we weren’t getting much, if anything, in the deal. Tenant Advisory Group stepped in and in order to build leverage found us several new space options – including one on Michigan Avenue with a balcony! Ultimately we always wanted to stay in the current space we had, even though we didn’t think the landlord would budge in negotiations. We were wrong. Bill got us four months of free rent and a tenant improvement allowance of more than $100,000! He truly went above and beyond working to get us this amazing deal. We thought there was nothing that he could improve upon but realized we had nothing to lose in giving him a chance to negotiate. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the results he delivered and were very impressed with his process, professionalism, and expertise.
